Abstract

This collection includes paintings and collage work.  Freely playing with lots of paint on wooden panels or paper, considering only value differences and shapes, is the basis for my paintings.  With subsequent layering of paint or collage more attention is given to the colour palette and what to bring out as the hero of the work.  A rich history develops from beneath which informs the next steps.  As I am drawn to plant forms they often appear along with the mark making and brush strokes, all culminating in the finished work.
